To The Winds, carved of marble, is a tribute to Vu Thi Anh, an elegant woman, who watched as, one by one, her children left Vietnam in the 1970's for places unknown to the winds not knowing if she would ever see them again. She would later reunite with them in the United States and our families were intertwined. I was with her when she returned to Vietnam for the first and only time in 1998. She died months before I returned to carve this sculpture.
"To The Winds" is installed in the Angiang Provincial Sculpture Park, in Chau doc, near the Cambodian border.
