Opole First International Sculpture Symposium
Opole, Poland
June 23 thru July 14, 2006

Carole was honored to be one of eight sculptors selected to participate in the First International Symposium of Opole, and the only American. This symposium was executed jointly with Opole’s sister city, Carrara, Italy, which provided the marble. Opole is known as the “Capital of Polish Song” and the theme of this Symposium was “The Song.”

The Symposium took place June 23 – July 14, 2006 in beautiful Opole City. The artists created their sculptures in public with many visitors.

The sculptors were invited to a Fourth of July gala celebration as the guests of U.S. Ambassador, Victor Ashe. The sculptors were also invited to the American-themed inaugural performance of the world-renowned Opole Symphony at their beautiful brand new concert hall. Opole is famous for hosting one of the oldest annual music festivals in the world.
